CheapHealthQuote is the practice of Sheryl Silverstone, a licensed independent insurance agent contracted with HealthMarkets and based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The whole point of this site is simple: help individuals and families stop overpaying for coverage they do not understand.

How this started

I began my insurance career over 11 years ago after leaving the corporate world to build something of my own. After finding HealthMarkets, I completed my licensing and training and quickly realized I had found a career I truly love. More than a decade later I am still doing the same work, for many of the same families, plus their kids and their parents.

What I actually do

I am an independent agent, which means I am not tied to a single insurance company. I compare plans from multiple carriers and walk you through the trade-offs in plain English. Concretely, that includes:

• ACA and Marketplace health insurance for individuals and families, including subsidy and premium tax credit eligibility.
• Medicare: Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap) and Part D prescription drug plans.
• Life insurance for people who want protection alongside their health plan.
• Network and formulary checks: I verify by hand whether your doctors are in-network and whether your prescriptions are on the plan's drug list before you enroll.

What makes this different

What makes me different is simple: I take the time to get to know you. I want to understand your needs, your doctors, and your medications so I can help you choose the best possible plan. A comparison website can sort premiums; it cannot tell you that the cheapest plan on the page drops your cardiologist or moves your medication to a tier you cannot afford.

I am also still here after you enroll. When a claim gets confusing, when a card does not arrive, when your plan changes for next year, you call me, not a call center queue.

Cost

Quotes are free and there is no obligation to enroll. As an agent, I am compensated by the insurance carrier when you enroll, so the price of a plan is the same whether you buy it through me or on your own. You are not paying extra for the help.
